Sheftic Wins Second Points Event with Victory at Conestoga Classic
Lancaster, Pa. – On Monday, June 17, more than 100 Section Professionals competed in the annual Conestoga Classic held at Conestoga Country Club in Lancaster, Pa. As play began the Section enjoyed what seemed to be the first weather free tournament in more than a week. However, as the day progressed players once again had to contend with wind, rain and a weather delay of 40-minutes. Thankfully the brunt of the storms missed the golf course and the tournament was completed without any major incident.
Early in the day a pair of players posted an impressive score of 4-under-par (66). The first to reach that number was John Bierkan (Aronimink GC). Bierkan combined six birdies and two bogeys, including a stretch of four birdies over six holes on his back nine. Joining Bierkan for the early lead was Mike Moses (Concord CC). Full Story
