Bent Creek CC professional Terry Hertzog was in the second group of the day in the TaylorMade/adidas Classic at Woodcrest CC in Cherry Hill , NJ. Hertzog's round started with two straight bogies along with a third at the par 3 7th. He did manage one birdie on the front side for a 2 over par 37. Something happened between nines and his back nine saw 4 birdies, one eagle along with 4 pars for a score of 6-under par 30 bringing his total score to a 4-under par 67.
Laurel Creek professional John DiMarco came close finishing at 3-under par 68, but it didn't look like Hertzog had to worry about not being able to stay for a possible play off until M Golf Range teaching professional Stu Ingraham came in with his 67 (32-35) with three birdies on the front, two more on the back paired with one bogey on the par 4 14th hole. Since Hertzog could not stay, Ingraham won the tournament, the first place check, the crystal and enough points to put him back in the lead in the very tight race for the Haverford Trust Company Player of the Year.
The lead has changed hands at least four times in the last month. In the race for the Senior Player of the Year, Bill Sautter added to his lead by shooting a 1-under par 70 for the win and the points.
