I hope everyone is having a great summer and is getting ready for the home stretch of the golf season. It has been a fantastic year so far and I am looking forward to the fall season.
Congratulations to Jeff Kiddie - National Merchandiser of the Year – Private category and John Rogers – National Horton Smith Award for being recognized nationally for their efforts. The Philadelphia Section has been on a great run over the past few years with more than our share of national award winners. We all know what great golf professionals we have in the Philadelphia Section, it is so nice to see them awarded for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Well done Jeff and John we are very proud of you!
The Section hosted a sponsor day on Wednesday, August 24th at Whitemarsh Valley CC. Many thanks to David Pagett and the staff at Whitemarsh for hosting this event. We are so lucky to have so many sponsors that help our Section out in many ways. Please make sure that you send our sponsors a thank you for all that they do for us.
The Philadelphia Junior Tour held their Tour Championship this past week at Trump National Golf Club – Philadelphia. Congratulations to the winners: Boys – Aaron Burton, Wilmington, DE. Girls – Erin Lo, Mt. Laurel, NJ. Well done!!!
A special thank you to Brian Schulte and Elise Kain for all of their hard work this summer. They have both done an amazing job in making the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stronger than it has ever been. Membership this year is up more than 100 members from last year and many players will be playing golf in college this fall. We are very proud of Brian and Elise for growing the Tour and running first class junior events.
