This past winter Jim Larkin, Fieldstone GC head professional was appointed to the post of District 2 Director for the Philadelphia Section. Larkin is replacing outgoing director Dave McNabb, PGA who accepted a position outside of District 2. This is Larkin’s first position held within the Philadelphia Section.
Larkin grew up in Massachusetts attending college at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Immediately after college Larkin was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1993. After a three year professional baseball career Larking accepted his first position in golf as an assistant at the Hyannisport Club on Cape Cod.
Larkin began his career in the Philadelphia Section at the DuPont CC in Wilmington, DE. After one season at DuPont CC, Larkin joined the staff at Fieldstone GC prior to its opening. Larkin served as an assistant for three years even earning the Acushnet Apprentice Award in 2006. That same year Larkin was elected to PGA membership and in the Fall was appointed the Head Professional at Fieldstone GC.
Jim and his wife Molly reside in Chadds Ford, PA with their three children, Kiley (6), Mac (4), and Conor (2).
