Message from Mark Kelly - November 2011 Mother Nature has really displayed her power this past fall. In the Lehigh Valley, we dealt with an earthquake, hurricane, hail, and almost an entire month of rain. Finally, an October snow storm resulted in power outages all across the area, destroying many trees.
This past Monday, most of the assistants who were signed up for the PAO Fall Meeting were able to make the event, even with the storm. For those who could not make the event, Scott Nye, Mark Anderson and Geoffrey Surrette spoke about how PGA Membership can lead to different career paths and benefit your long-term career goals. Thank you, gentlemen, for taking time to share this information with the PAO members. Full Article Message from Mark Kelly - June 2011 Members of the Philadelphia PGA,
Thank you all for supporting the PAO and the assistant professionals who have become a part of our organization. This letter is being sent to our entire membership to inform you of the PAO’s current success and ways to encourage assistants to participate over the next few months.
This year, the PAO has exceeded our membership goal and has reached 96 members. The Spring Meeting at the ACE Club also increased attendance by 14% to 64 attendees. Seeing an increase in participation is a sign that the PAO is continuing to be successful, and the restructuring from last year has helped the PAO to meet the needs of our assistants. The PAO’s Mission is to prepare assistant professionals for future success in the golf business. Many of our past members have become head golf professionals and current PAO members will be head professionals in the Philadelphia Section in the future.
Full Article Message from Mark Kelly - May 2011 Aside from the recent tornados that have terrorized the East, I believe the rain has finally slowed enough to produce spring golf days. Most of us are already well into the 2011 season, with the PAO already having two tournaments completed. Congratulations to Jimmy Maack and Travis Deibert on their defense of their Spring Meeting title, and to Brian Bergstol on his second place finish at the DVO, resulting in a PAO victory. Good playing gentlemen. Full Article Message from Mark Kelly - March 2011 The start of the 2011 PAO season is around the corner. April 4th is shaping up to be a very eventful day, beginning with our PAO Spring Meeting & Education, and ending with 18 holes of championship golf at The Ace Club. I would recommend finding a solid partner because there are rumors of last year’s defending champions returning to defend their title. One avenue for finding a partner is the PAO Facebook page. If you are looking for a Spring Meeting partner, post a comment on the page. Full Article
