Section Awards Dinner, March 15 at Aronimink G.C.
Please join us on Sunday, March 15 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., as we celebrate the Philadelphia PGA Section's 2019 award winners. Cocktails will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. and dinner and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. The banquet ($60 per person) includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dessert).
The 2019 awards class includes John Carpineta, Golf Professional of the Year; John Dunigan, Teacher of the Year; Charlie Schuyler, Bill Strausbaugh Award; Dean Kandle, Horton Smith Award; Brent Wallace, Private Merchandiser of the Year; Jason Howard, Public Merchandiser of the Year; Alex McGann, Resort Merchandiser of the Year; Steve Frederick, Assistant Golf Professional of the Year; John Pillar, Patriot Award; Steve Wager, Player Development Award; Andy Miller, Youth Player Development Award; and Laura Manchester, Golf Salesperson of the Year.

"REACH for Birdies" This Tournament Season
The Section is continuing its “REACH for Birdies” program for the 2020 tournament season to help support PGA REACH Philadelphia. When joining the program, PGA Professionals make pledges to donate a certain dollar amount for each birdie and/or eagle that they make during all official Section and PAO events, tracked by Section staff. Attend the Philadelphia Women in Golf Leaders Summit at Aronimink
The Philadelphia PGA Section, the Golf Association of Philadelphia and PGA Magazine will be hosting the first annual Women in Golf Leaders Summit at Aronimink G.C. on Tuesday, March 31 from 1:00-5:30 p.m. for $20 per person. The event is open to all golf industry stakeholders (men and women), facility leaders, and passionate individuals with the goal of sharing ideas and positively impacting women’s golf.

Golf Galaxy's new Devon, Pa., location is looking for anyone passionate about golf that wants to work in a fun, service-oriented atmosphere. The team at Golf Galaxy - Devon thought this would be a great opportunity for youth members of affiliated clubs who either play on their high school or college teams to get some job experience in an area which they are already passionate. Positions include: Apparel Specialist, Cashier / Customer Service, Equipment Sales Associate, Golf Club Technician, Sales Associate, Operations Associate, and Temporary Setup Positions. PGA REACH Philadelphia has five spring PGA HOPE programs scheduled and is in need of several PGA Professionals to help with instruction for the dates below. This is an opportunity to help support and give back to our military veterans who have served our country. Any PGA Professional that attends a PGA HOPE program are offered an honorarium for their time and MSR credit.
