Hershey, Pa. – The third and final National Car Rental Pro-Am event was played Thursday, August 18 at Hershey Country Club – East Course located in Chocolatetown USA (Hershey, Pa.). The National Car Rental Pro-Senior Men’s Team Championship pairs one PGA Professional with three senior amateurs, age 50 or above, in a better ball of partners event. Teams in today’s tournament were competing in both NET and GROSS divisions.
Leading the way in the NET division was the team featuring Dave Quinn (Links Golf Club) and his amateur partners Ed Quinn, Jim Balfour, and Gary Schumacher. The team posted an impressive net score of 19-under (52) to finish five shots clear of the field. The group was lead in large part by Dave Quinn who carded ten birdies en route to an 8-under (63). However each member of the team added multiple birdies enabling them to win comfortably. The team also finished in the top spot in the tournament’s GROSS division but is unable to take home the top prize in both divisions.
Ultimately taking the top prize in the tournament’s GROSS division was the team of Mike Little (Lookaway Golf Club) and his amateur partners Roc Irey, Craig Berube, and Bob Majczan. The team combined for a score of 8-under (63) which was one shot clear of the next closest team. Each member of the group contributed with a natural birdie however the group was led by Little and Irey who each had four birdies on the day.
