Four Teams Lead the Way at National Car Rental AC Team Stableford
Egg Harbor Township, N.J, – The 30 teams that gathered at Hidden Creek Golf Club for the National Car Rental AC Team Stableford Championship had to battle the relentless winds that plagued the area on Thursday. Despite the windy conditions the bright blue skies and sunshine made for an enjoyable afternoon for are the competitors. All teams featured one PGA Professionals and three amateurs and played a modified stableford points event competing for both a Net and Gross division prize.
In the Net division four teams finished tied atop the leaderboard. The first team to post a winning number was the team from Overbrook Golf Club featuring Ashley Grier, PGA and her partners Karen McFadden, Kate Loftus, and Olivia Traynor. The group finished with a total of 85 points. However they were quickly joined by Andy Waters, PGA (Talamore Country Club) and his team of Bill Schneider, Scott Slobotkin, and Chip Drahos. The third team to join the party was Barry Shewalter, PGA (Ballamor Golf Club) and his partners Josh Prescott, Scot Rose and Nate Ksiazek. Rounding out the winning teams was the group of Jim Haus, PGA (Bent Creek Country Club) and his amateur partners John Dever, Milt Drennen, and Dave Wassel.
The Gross division two teams finished tied for the top spot. Haus and partners were also able to capture this division with a total team score of 73 points. Joining the team from Bent Creek Country Club was the team of Dave Quinn, PGA (Links Golf Club) and his partners Ed Quinn, Jim Balfour, and Gary Schumacher.
