Wayne, Pa. – The first round of the 2016 Philadelphia Senior PGA Professional Championship was played on a near perfect day at St. Davids Golf Club. The 40 Senior PGA Professionals competing in the Championship are vying for one of eight spots in the 28^th Senior PGA Professional Championship being held at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. November 17-20, 2016.

After the first round Jack Brennan (Mountain View Country Club) was the only player in the field to post a number under par. Brennan made his way around the par70 golf course posting two birdies against only one bogey for a total score of 1-under (69).

Finishing just behind Brennan was the duo of Don Allan (Burlington Country Club) and Stu Ingraham (M Golf Range). Allan finds himself only one shot back after carding an even par (70). Allan was able to overcome an early double bogey do in large part to his four total birdies, second most in the field. After a bogey on the opening hole, Ingraham carded 15 pars before a birdie on the par-3 17^th leveled his score.

A five-way tie rounds out the group of players currently holding a qualifying spot. Bill Sautter (Philadelphia Cricket Club), Terry Hertzog (Country Club of York), Jim Bromley (Play-a-Round Golf), Bob Lennon (Wilmington Country Club), and Brian Kelly (Bucknell Golf Club) all posted a 1-over (71) and will look to maintain their position during the day tomorrow.

Play will resume on Tuesday morning at 8:00am with players in twosomes. The final pairing will feature Brennan and Allan and the duo will get underway at 10:32am.
