Buckingham, Pennsylvania, (September 21, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Austin Barbin of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, Maryland, took first place at 5-under-par in the 2026 Philadelphia Players Championship at Lookaway Golf Club.

“The last three holes, I looked at the leaderboard and I saw Bergstol [Brian] and Riley [Wheeldon] up at 5-under-par, and I knew I had to get to five, so I just locked in. Honestly it was a blacking out and zoning in kind of deal,”  Barbin said. 

After his round, Barbin mentioned he was playing for something more than the trophy. “My Mom had a really big surgery today, and on my glove before the round, I wrote Mom, so I would play for not myself,” Barbin said. 

Barbin went on to thank God, Scott and Karen Hutchinson for their generosity, Lookaway Golf Club and their members as well as his wife Kasey, his parents, and all of the members at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club. 

The championship’s presenting partners, Scott and Karen Hutchinson have helped to make the event’s purse one of the Section’s largest, at over $25,000, with $6,000 going to the winner.

One stroke back was Aronimink Golf Club’s Riley Wheeldon with a final score of 4-under-par. There was a five-way tie for third place at 3-under-par between Waynesborough Country Club’s Kyle Early, Llanerch Country Club’s Andrew Cornish, Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli, DuPont Country Club’s Mike Caldwell and Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort’s Brian Bergstol.

Royal Oaks Golf Club’s Terry Hatch took home the top prize in the Senior Division, scoring 1-under-par. Bethlehem Golf Club’s Jason Wilson and Sunnybrook Golf Club’s Mark Sheftic tied for second at even-par. With a score of 73 and taking fourth place was Green Valley Country Club’s John Cooper. Rounding out the top five, Spring Ford Country Club’s Rich Steinmetz and Galloway National Golf Club’s Frank Bensel tied for fifth with a score of 74.

Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania (September 16, 2026) —  PGA of America Golf Professional Jennifer Cully of Honeybrook Golf Club in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, captured the 2026 Women’s Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship at Green Valley Country Club with an even par round of 71. 

“This is really special to have our own day,”  Cully said regarding the 2026 Women’s Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship.  

“It was awesome, the best I have played in years,” Cully said after her round. “I had a few three putts [on the front] but I came alive on the back nine,” Cully said.

Cully went on to thank Green Valley Country Club’s PGA Professional John Cooper and his staff, as well as the grounds crew. She also thanked HoneyBrook, and the Philadelphia PGA Section staff. 

One stroke behind Cully was Stonewall’s Megan Leineweber, who shot a 72. Gulph Mills Golf Club’s Lauren Hickam and Green Valley Country Club’s Brittany Weddell tied for third at 3-over-par. Rounding out the top five was Merion Golf Club’s Joanna Coe, who finished with a 75.

Mount Laurel Township, New Jersey (September 14,  2026) — PGA Professional Nick Iacono of Merion Golf Club and his team of amateurs, Loraine Jones, Lauren Sullivan, and Liz Cahill, along with fellow PGA Professional Brett Walker of Chester Valley Golf Club and his team, Ginny Palmer, Cathy Carrigan and Ann D’Amicantonio, shared victory in the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Fall Pro-Lady Team Championship Presented by Parx Casino® and Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board. Both teams finished with net score of 59, 12-under-par.

Host PGA Professional Bob Hennefer of Laurel Creek Country Club, along with Christina Duman, Susan Odegard and Joanne Seltzer, finished tied for third at 11-under-par alongside PGA Professional Mike Caldwell of DuPont Country Club, and Lauren Klick, Jane Sassaman and Katie Sahm. PGA Professional Steven Chalmers of Lookaway Golf Club teamed with Jewel Schaeffer, Martha Robinson and Melissa Scheffler, PGA Professional Kyle Miller of Bellewood Country Club teamed with Tammy Sucoloski, Joan Fisher and Kris Kennedy, and PGA Professional Brett Fernandes of Laurel Creek Country Club teamed with Sara Pastorius, Linda Toogood and Nikki Katona, with all three teams tying for fifth at 10-under-par.

In the Gross Division, PGA Professional Brett Walker’s team finished first at 8-under-par, followed by PGA Professional Mike Caldwell’s team at 7-under-par. PGA Professional Nick Iacono’s team finished third at 5-under-par. Rounding out the top five in a three-way tie at 3-under-par were PGA Professional Dan Mrozinski of Commonwealth National Golf Club and his team of Linda Kennedy, Kelsey Luber and Jenifer Dorfmeister, PGA Professional Kyle Miller and his team, and PGA Professional Steven Chalmers and his team.

Villanova, Pennsylvania (September 10, 2026) —PGA of America Golf Professional Mark Sheftic of Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., finished with an impressive 4-under-par and a score of 66 to win the 2026 Skee Riegel Senior Open.

Sheftic credits PGA Professional Mike Little for helping him improve his putting. “I was able to make some putts today, and that made a difference,” Sheftic said.

In second place was Brendon Post, representing the University of Delaware, who finished 3-under-par. There was a four-way tie for third place between Hugo Mazzalupi from Radnor Golf Foundation, Rich Steinmetz from Spring Ford Country Club, Mark Chelbek from Steel Club, and PGA Life Member Brian Kelly, all finished even par with a score of 70.

In the Super Senior Division, Greg Farrow from Deerwood Country Club took first place, finishing 1-under-par. One shot behind Farrow, PGA Life Member Wayne Phillips finished even-par with a score of 70. In third place, PGA Life Member Kevin Shaw finished with a score of 79. Rounding out the top five, Patrick Keefe from Frog Hollow Golf Club and PGA Life Members Jeffrey Van Etten and Tom O’Malley tied for fourth, finishing with a score of 81.

About Robert Henry “Skee” Riegel, PGA
Skee Riegel was born in 1914 in New Bloomfield, Pa., and grew up in eastern Pennsylvania. Riegel served in the U.S. Air Corps as a flight instructor during World War II. After leaving the service he rose to the top of amateur golf, winning the U.S. Amateur in 1947, the Western Amateur in 1948 and the Trans-Mississippi Amateur in 1946 and 1948. Riegel also played on the U.S. Walker Cup teams in 1947 and 1949, remaining unbeaten in Walker Cup play. Riegel turned professional in 1950 and was one of the first golfers involved in strength training. In 1951, he nearly won the Masters, finishing in second place behind Ben Hogan. Riegel returned to Pennsylvania to become PGA Head Professional at Radnor Valley Country Club in 1954, where he continued his winning ways, claiming victory in the 1957 and 1959 Pennsylvania Opens and the 1960 Philadelphia Open. He left Radnor Valley at the end of 1961 for the opportunity to participate in the ownership of a new golf course, York Road G.C. in Bucks County, now known as the Bucks Club. For over 30 years, Riegel was a permanent member of the Philadelphia PGA Section’s Tournament Committee and served as Rules Chair for every Section tournament. In 1975, he was given the Section’s PGA Professional Development Award for his many hours spent educating the golf professionals on the rules of golf. Riegel was inducted into the Philadelphia Section Hall of Fame in 1993.
