Newtown Square, Pennsylvania  (September 1, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Brett Walker of Chester Valley Golf  Club in Malvern, Pennsylvania, successfully claimed the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Match Play Championship Tuesday at Aronimink Golf Club. In the final match, Walker defeated Laurel Creek Country Club’s Dave Quinn, PGA, 3 and 2, at the historic club, the host site of this year’s PGA Championship.

Walker began his day facing off against fellow PGA Professional Michael Little of Clubhouse 54 in the semi-finals, winning 4 and 3. Quinn earned his place in the final match by defeating Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli 4 and 3.

In the final match, Walker won the first hole and held the lead the rest of the round. He has had success at Aronimink in the past, winning the 100th Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship in 2021. 

“It’s very cool to win here again,” Walker said after the final match. “Good memories, and I am excited to get it done today on this historic golf course.

“Dave Quinn is a great player,” he continued. “You can’t give him any kind of room, or he will wiggle his way back in.”

Walker was 5-up over Quinn through 11 holes.

“The course is in unbelievable shape. It was a treat to play. It makes you hit good golf shots.”

Walker went on to thank his wife Sarah, his parents, Chester Valley Golf Club for allowing him to represent them in tournaments, Aronimink Golf Club, Jeff Kiddie, and the entire club staff, and the Section staff.

The champion’s path to the final included victories against John F. Byrne Golf Course’s Anthony Hoffman 4 and 3, Newark Country Club’s John Colbert, 2 and 1, Berkshire Country Club’s Tom Michaels, 5 and 4, LedgeRock Golf Club’s Colton Yenser 5 and 4, and today’s matches against Little and Quinn.
