PGA of America Golf Professional Andrew Cornish Wins 2026 TaylorMade Classic

Frazer, Pennsylvania (September 28, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Andrew Cornish of Llanerch Country Club won the Philadelphia PGA Section’s 2026 TaylorMade Classic at Chester Valley Golf Club after defeating Bidermann Golf Club’s Zac Oakley in a sudden-death playoff. The tournament is a Rolex / Haverford Trust Company Philadelphia PGA Player of the Year event.

“You know six weeks ago I had hand surgery, so showing up to a course like this and coming off an injury is tough, but I was able to get it done,” Cornish said. “To play in a playoff with darkness, and to make a nice putt there to force Zac [Oakley] to make.”

Cornish thanked his fiancée, Tessa Teachman, PGA, his parents and family, as well as the staff at Chester Valley Golf Club and the Philadelphia PGA Section. He also expressed his appreciation for Titleist and the members and staff at Llanerch Country Club.

Finishing among the top five was a six-way tie for third place at 70. The group included Aronimink Golf Club’s Riley Wheeldon, Chester Valley Golf Club’s Brett Walker, Merion Golf Club’s Nicholas Iacono, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Evan and Austin Barbin, and Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli.

In the Senior Division, Sunnybrook Golf Club’s Mark Sheftic took first place with a score of 72. PGA Life Member Brian Kelly, Country Club at Woodloch Springs’ John Pillar, and Wilmington Country Club’s Robert Lennon shared a three-way tie for second place with a score of 75. Rounding out the top five and one stroke behind was Laurel Creek Country Club’s David Quinn at 76.

Cornish also went on to split a first way tie with Oakley in the Philadelphia Assistants’ Organization division at 1-under-par. A three-way tie for third included Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Evan and Austin Barbin and Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli.
