Plymouth Meeting, Pa. (August 23, 2023) — PGA Member Sam Ambrose of Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern, Pa., led his amateur team to a Net victory in the 2023 Philadelphia PGA Summer Pro-Lady Team Championship Presented by Parx Casino®, topping Sunnybrook Golf Club, a host team, and Berkshire C.C. in a scorecard playoff.

All three teams finished with scores of 57, 15-under-par, in the one best ball of four format. Ambrose teamed with Saige Pacholok, Emily Centofante, and Leah Ricci. Berkshire’s team included Andrew Turner, PGA, Sarah Phillips, Penny Golden, and Barb Najarian; Sunnybrook’s team consisted of Brad Sanders, PGA, Meg Piotrowicz, Alexandra Natale, and Patricia Graver.

Three teams tied for third place at 14-under-par: Ben Bewley, PGA, Michele Albright, Lori Derr, and Sharon Heck of Berkshire C.C.; Gary Mackay, PGA, Kim Butscher, Wendy Kennedy, and Patrice Greene, representing the Springhaven Club; and Ben Debski, PGA, Leighann Forbes, Melissa Denon, and Rachel Morrison, also of the Springhaven Club.

In the Gross Division, PGA Member Joanna Coe of Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., and her team of amateurs, Lindsay Forgash, Loraine Jones, and Marie Kneizys, took home the top prize, finishing with a 7-under-par round of 65. Coe made an eagle and four birdies on her own golf ball. Coe’s 66 is one stroke lower than the official course record, set by Jennifer Cleary in 2022 on a course that measured 6,145 yards; today’s course measured 5,375 yards.

The Merion team topped Ambrose’s Chester Valley team by one stroke. Three teams finished tied for third place at 5-under-par: Brad Sanders’ Sunnybrook G.C. team; Penn Oaks G.C.’s Jesse Hallett, PGA, Tina Landis, Donna Dalusio, and Rosemary McGeehin; Medford Village G.C.’s Leo DeGisi, PGA, Debra Ammons, Missy Bullard, and Mary Dooney.
