Flourtown, Pa. – September 22, 2016 – Jordan Gibbs of (Philadelphia, Pa.), is the winner of the Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship, at Philadelphia Cricket Club. Gibbs will lead 12 Philadelphia PGA Professionals to compete in the 50th PGA Professional Championship, next June 18-21, 2016 at Sunriver Resort in Oregon.

After holding a one shot lead after 36-holes, Gibbs played the best round of the day and posted a 4-under (66) giving him a championship total of 11-under (201). Stu Ingraham of (Broomall, Pa.) was the Championship’s runner-up, after carding a three day total of 6-under-par 206. They are joined by Dave McNabb (Malvern, Pa.), John Pillar (Hawley, Pa.), Scott Reilly (Gladwyne, Pa.), Mike Molino (Dallas, Pa.), Tony Perla (Norristown, Pa.), Alex Knoll (Bethlehem, Pa.), Mike Little (Lansdale, Pa.), Bill Walker (Riverton, N.J.), John Spina (Schwenksville, Pa.), and George Forster (Blue Bell, Pa.).

After a birdie on his opening hole, Gibbs carded a bogey on the second hole before posting four additional birdies on his opening nine holes. As he made his way around the back nine Gibbs played steady golf and was able to maintain his spot at the top of the leaderboard.

The win was Gibbs’ first Philadelphia PGA Professional Championship title and marks the second straight year that a first-time winner captures the Section biggest prize (McNabb 2015). Gibbs will also be making his trip to the PGA Professional Championship after earning his PGA membership in 2015.
