PGA of America Golf Professionals Riley Wheeldon, Anthony Sebastianelli Lead 2026 GALV Lehigh Valley / Reading Open 

Kutztown, Pa. (July 6, 2026) —Two PGA of America Golf Professionals are currently tied for the lead in the 2026 GALV Lehigh Valley / Reading Open. Aronimink Golf Club’s Riley Wheeldon and Whitford Country Club’s Anthony Sebastianelli fired low rounds of 64, 8-under-par, and had zero bogeys on their cards. Their impressive rounds are only one stroke off of the course record set last year by Andrew Cornish in the same event.

The Rolex / Haverford Trust Company Philadelphia PGA Player of the Year points event’s final round is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7 at Moselem Springs Golf Club where the two will try to maintain their lead, despite tough competition right on their heels.

Tied for third place only one stroke back of the leaders are Rolling Green Golf Club’s Braden Shattuck and Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Zach Barbin, both who are no stranger to the winners circle. Also in the hunt, at 6-under-par is Michael Rushin from Bear Trap Dunes and Richard Stolz from Go Golf LLC.

Moselem Springs Golf Club, in collaboration with Berkleigh Golf Club, announced the return of the Reading Open in 2025, an iconic professional tournament that was a regular PGA Tour stop in the 1940s and 1950s, previously held at storied venues such as Berkshire Country Club and Reading Country Club. 

Leading the Senior Divison, is Jason Wilson from Bethlehem Golf Club who shot 4-under-par. Dave McNabb from Applebrook and Brian Kelly of Titleist Fitcrew are also in the mix shooting 2-under-par and 1-under-par, respectively. Four PGA Professionals currently sit in a tie for fourth place at even par.

Nineteen amateurs are competing alongside the PGA Professional field, with Robert Linepensel setting the bar with a round of 7-under-par, six strokes ahead of Kyle Pritchard. Kyan DeLong sits in third place amongst the amateurs, shooting 2-over-par.

Bill Sautter of the Philadelphia Cricket Club played well today and currently leads the Super Senior Division at 4-under-par, two shots ahead of Lehigh Country Club’s Wayne Phillips. Brian Leib sits in third place at even par, with Rich Fleischer from Lehigh Country Club and Darryl Lock of Skippack Golf Club close behind.

The Philadelphia PGA Section’s Central Counties Chapter is hosting an event concurrently with the Lehigh Valley Open and Jason Wilson is also in first. Tied for second are Moselem Springs Golf Club’s Jeff Fick and Bent Creek Country Club’s Parks Price who shot 3-under-par rounds. Alex Knoll out of Glen Brook Golf Club is in a solo fourth at 2-under-par. Two PGA Professionals are tied for fifth.

The Philadelphia PGA would also like to shoutout Austin Barbin from Chesapeake Bay Golf Club on making his first Hole-in-One on the fifteenth hole at Berkleigh Golf Club. Barbin made the shot from 192 yards using a 7-iron. Congratulations Austin!

PGA of America Golf Professional Lamar Saxon and Team Win 2026 Philadelphia PGA Pro-Junior Team Championship

Blue Bell, Pa. (June 30, 2026) — Kennett Square Golf and Country Club’s Lamar Saxon, PGA, Grant Burkhart, Paul Sanfrancesco, and Patrick Puskar captured the 2026 Philadelphia Pro-Junior Team Championship at Bluestone Country Club after posting an impressive 17-under-par.

Yardley Country Club’s J.T. Wambold, Tommy Carpenter, Maddie Cabot, and Brady Weltz finished second only one stroke back. John F. Byrne Golf Course’s golf professional, Rocco Sgrillo, and junior golfers Joey Conrad, Ethan Clark, and Jake Smaron placed third at 12-under-par. Tavistock Country Club’s Matt Cocco, PGA, Brady Cobb, Andrew Walker, and Nick DiMedio finished fourth at 10-under-par.

In a tie for fifth place was Bellewood Country Club’s Kyle Miller, PGA, Max Berish, Adam Smith and Brett Wade; Radnor Valley Country Club’s John Esher-Hagel, PGA, Sebastian Leone, Thomas Manzi, and Mike Manzi; Cedarbrook Country Club’s Jim Parella, PGA, Jonathon Schultz, Taylor Becht, Baylor Keim; and Merion Golf Club’s Nick Iacono, PGA, Owen Ciesielka, Brody Campbell, and Grant MacColl.

PGA of America Golf Professional Brian Bergstol and Amateur Jake Haberstumpf Win 2026 Philadelphia PGA Pro-Scratch Championship

York, Pa. (June 29, 2026) — The Philadelphia PGA traveled across the Susquehanna River to the Country Club of York where PGA of America Golf Professional Brian Bergstol from Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort and his amateur partner Jake Haberstumpf claimed victory in the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Pro-Scratch Championship. The pair had an outstanding round of 11-under-par, carding zero bogeys, in the better ball of partners format.

The team who took second place only one stroke back was Dupont Country Club’s Michael Caldwell and his partner Jason Henzes. In third place at 9-under-par was PGA Professional Jeff Fick and Brandon Raihl from Moselem Springs Golf Club. Rounding out the top five in a tie for fourth place at 7-under-par was Life Member Terry Hertzog, PGA and Zak Drescher; Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club’s Rob Wolfers, PGA and Jim Schmidt; and     Rocco Sgrillo and Michael Sgrillo from John F. Byrne Golf Course.

Philadelphia PGA Professional Joanna Coe to Compete in KPMG Women’s PGA Championship

Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania (June 24, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Joanna Coe of Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, will compete in the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship taking place June 25-28 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Coe earned her place in the championship at the 2026 Women’s Stroke Play Championship, securing a spot on the Corebridge Financial Team and the opportunity to compete against the world’s best players at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

She tees off Thursday, June 25 at 8:55 A.M. off of hole one and Friday, June 26 at 2:20 P.M. off of hole ten.

PGA of America Golf Professional Jeff Kiddie Leads 2026 Philadelphia Senior PGA Professional Championship Entering Final Round

Pottstown, Pa. (June 22, 2026) — It was an cooler and overcast summer day at Bellewood Country Club as Jeff Kiddie of Aronimink Golf Club strode away from the group to lead the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Senior Professional Championship. Kiddie shot a steady round of 1-under-par, giving him a one-stroke lead going into the second day of the championship scheduled for tomorrow, June 23.

The top seven finishers following tomorrow’s final round will advance to the 2026 Senior PGA Professional Championship at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon, Ariz., on October 22-25. The top 35 finishers in the 2026 Senior PGA Professional Championship will earn a spot on the Corebridge Financial Team to compete in the 2027 Senior PGA Championship, April 2027, at the Concession Golf Club.

Sitting in a solo second at even par is Frank Bensel from Galloway National Golf Club. Also in the hunt are Sunnybrook Golf Club’s Mark Sheftic, Yardley Country Club’s Graham Dendler, and Bent Creek Country Club’s Terry Hertzog who are tied for third place at 2-over-par.

Leading the super senior division is Wayne Phillips from Lehigh Country Club who shot even par. Two shots back in a tie for second are Harvey Williams from Glen Oaks Country Club and Rob Shuey. Dan Baker and Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Bill Sautter rounded out the top five, shooting 3-over-par and 4-over-par respectively.

The final round is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23 at Bellewood C.C.

PGA of America Golf Professional Anthony Sebastianelli Captures Philadelphia Assistant PGA Professional Championship in Playoff

Mount Laurel, N.J. (June 15, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Anthony Sebastianelli of Whitford Country Club in Exton, Pennsylvania, captured the 2026 Philadelphia Assistant PGA Professional Championship at Laurel Creek Country Club in a sudden-death playoff with Logan Hay of Burlington Country Club. The annual championship honors the late past PGA of America and Philadelphia PGA President Dick Smith Sr.

The championship is supported by Srixon | Cleveland Golf, Golf Channel, Ohana Farm, SCNS Sports Foods, and the PGA Tour.

Sebastianelli entered the final round after opening with a 1-over-par 72 before firing a 3-under- par 68 in the final round. He finished the championship at 2-under par 140 and advanced to a playoff with Hay, who carded rounds of 71 and 69.

“It was a grind today,” Sebastianelli said following the playoff. “I knew par was going to be a good score, and that I had to be super patient, bear down and hit some good shots.”

He went on to thank his wife Emily, Pat Butkus and everyone at Whitford, the Section, and Laurel Creek for hosting.

“This place is in such good shape; the greens are so good,” he continued.

Sebastianelli also thanked Jamie Curran for helping him with get back into competitive shape after tearing his labrum last year.

Bidermann Golf Club’s Zac Oakley tied for third place with Austin Barbin, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club. Zach Barbin, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, finished in fifth place.

Six Philadelphia PGA Professionals qualified for this year’s Assistant PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, November 12-15: Anthony Sebastianelli, Whitford Country Club; Logan Hay, Burlington Country Club; Zac Oakley, Bidermann Golf Club; Austin Barbin, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club; Zach Barbin, Chesapeake Bay Golf Club; and Trevor Bensel, LuLu Country Club. Zach Barbin had already secured his exemption thanks to his finish in the 2025 championship. Alternates include: Andrew Cornish, Llanerch Country Club; Matthew Cocco, Tavistock Country Club; Andrew Turner, Green Valley Country Club; Brian Bergstol, Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort; and Rocco Sgrillo, John F. PGA of America Golf Professionals Chanaud, Stolz, Lead Parris, Parris, and Devaney to Victory in the 40th Burlington Classic Pro-Am Presented by WSFS Bank

Westampton, N.J. (June 7, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professionals  Michael Chanaud of Bear Trap Dunes, and Richard Stolz of Go Golf, LLC, led their team of amateurs Ryan Parris, Andrew Parris and Conner Devaney to victory in the 40th Burlington Classic Pro-Am Presented by WSFS Bank at Burlington Country Club.

The winning team finished with an astounding team score of 29-under-par in the Two Best of Five format to top the team of PGA Professionals Anthony Sebastianelli of Whitford Country Club and Andy Hewitt of Cripple Creek Country Club and their team of amateurs, Bill Murray, Tom Matera and Mayank Patel by two strokes. Three teams tied for third place at 22-under-par: Michael Little of Clubhouse 54, Danie Steyn of Julian Krinsky School of Golf, Tom Manna, Mike Kelly, and Bill Hnatiuk; Brian Bergstol of Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, Steve Wager of Toftrees Golf Resort, Thom Chamberlain, Chris Rose, and Bob Fredrickson; and Mike Caldwell of DuPont Country Club, Jason Wilson from Bethlehem Golf Club, Jake Wig, Mark Hinke and Brian Powell.

The individual PGA Professional event will conclude on Monday, June 7, and is currently being led by Dave Pagett of Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, Tony Perla from Huntingdon Valley Country Club and Michael Chanaud out of Bear Trap Dunes. The trio all shot a score of 6-under-par and sit one stroke ahead of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Zach Barbin. Four PGA Professionals sit in a tie for fifth place at 4-under-par.

Currently sitting in first place in the senior division at 4-under-par are Brian Kelly from Titleist Fitcrew, Dave Quinn of Laurel Creek Country Club and Jason Wilson from Bethlehem Golf Club. Shooting 3-under-par, and sitting in fourth place Carlisle Country Club’s Steve Swartz and Terry Hatch from Royal Oaks Golf Club.

Leading the super senior division in a tie at four-over-par were Lehigh Country Club’s Wayne Philips, Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Bill Sautter and Deerwood Country Club’s Greg Farrow.

Four amateurs from the first round advanced to the final round to compete for low amateur honors and the Marotto Medal on Monday, alongside the PGA Professional field: Bill Murray, Tom Byrne, Rob Bell, and Corey Katzen.

PGA of America Golf Professionals Michael Caldwell, Andrew Turner Win at The Hutch 

Reading, Pa. (June 4, 2026) —  Andrew Turner, PGA, of Green Valley Country Club took first place in the PGA Professional Division with a score of 5-under-par at the Hutch Invitational at Berkshire Country Club.

In the Four-Ball competition, Mike Caldwell, PGA, of Dupont Country Club and his partner Ronald Fields captured victory posting a 10-under-par net score of 61.

The duo finished two strokes ahead of the teams of Scott Reilly, PGA, of Philadelphia Country Club and his partner James Gradisek, and Tom Michaels, PGA, of Berkshire Country Club and his partner Jacques Jacobson, who shared second place at 8-under-par net. Andrew Turner, PGA, of Green Valley Country Club and his partner John Gobright finished fourth at 7-under-par, while Riley Wheeldon, PGA, of Aronimink Golf Club and his partner Chris Brolley, tied for fifth with Dustin McCormick, PGA, of Glen Brook Golf Club and his partner Albert McCormick at 6-under-par.

Scott and Karen Hutchinson have been longtime supporters of the Philadelphia PGA Section and the PGA of America REACH Foundation Philadelphia, the Section’s 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, and also support the Philadelphia Players Championship at Lookaway Golf Club. The Hutchinsons established the Hutch to provide an additional playing opportunity to PGA Professionals who prioritize competitive golf while also successfully balancing their careers and partner relationships. The Hutch is a limited field event with the Hutchinsons extending invitations to 32 PGA Professionals. Post round, Turner shared his thoughts on the win.

“I really love this golf course,” said Turner. “It is a great layout and when it is firm and fast, it poses a formidable challenge. I was able to put myself in great positions on the course all day, constantly putting uphill which allowed me to make a lot of putts.”

Turner went on to thank Scott and Karen Hutchinson for their kindness in hosting this event, as well as his wife, Lauren, and Berkshire Country Club.

Mike Caldwell finished second at 3-under-par 68, while Dustin McCormick, PGA, of Glen Brook Golf Club placed third at 2-under-par 69, while Riley Wheeldon, PGA, of Aronimink Golf Club finished fourth at 1-under-par 70. Jeff Fick, PGA, of Moselem Springs Golf Club rounded out the top five at even-par 71.

PGA of America Golf Professional Billy Stewart Crowned Champion of 28th Annual Haverford Philadelphia PGA Classic and Takes Home $100,000 Prize

Plymouth Meeting, Pa. (May 26, 2025) — PGA of America Golf Professional Billy Stewart of Union League Liberty Hill is the champion of the 28th Annual Haverford Philadelphia PGA Classic and is taking home the grand prize of $100,000, the largest first-place prize available from any event across the PGA of America’s 41 nationwide Sections. He scored an impressive round of 6-under-par, and included zero bogeys.

Stewart is no stranger to the pressure of this event, having previously won it in 2013. Early in his speech, Stewart mentioned the life-changing impact this prize has had on his career, allowing him to gain certifications that he used to become a teaching professional as a full-time job.

“I was definitely nervous, but it is the best feeling in golf when you are able to overcome those nerves and pull it off,” said Stewart. “The key to my round was getting up and down on the first two holes, and then I was able to birdie three and four and regain my rhythm.”

He went on to thank George Connell and the Haverford Trust Company for the opportunities they create for PGA Professionals and the measures they take to give back to the game.

Also playing well today was Merion Golf Club’s Joanna Coe, who finished two strokes back of Stewart. In a tie for third place at 3-under-par was Rob Wolfers of Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club, and Brian Bergstol of Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort. Six golf professionals finished tied for fifth place at 2-under-par: Frank Bensel, Galloway National Golf Club; John Pillar, Country Club at Woodloch Springs; Logan Hay, Burlington Country Club; Will Scarborough, the Peninsula Golf and Country Club; Trevor Bensel, Lulu Country Club;   and Parks Price, Bent Creek Country Club.

In the Senior Division, Frank Bensel and John Pillar, tied for first prize, shooting 2-under-par.

Claiming the title of low amateur was  Francis Vaughn who shot one-over-par.

PGA of America Golf Professional Tom Koenig and Team Crowned Champions of the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Pro-Lady Team Championship

Allentown, Pa. (May 6, 2026) — PGA of America Golf Professional Tom Koenig and his team of lady amateur golfers Tina Landis, Dawn Capriotti, and Donna Dalusio from Penn Oaks Golf Club were crowed champions of the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Spring Pro-Lady Team Championship Presented by Parx Casino® and Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board. Despite the cooler and drizzly weather, the team managed to finish with an impressive net score of 13-under-par to claim first place.

One stroke back in second place were three teams: Laurel Creek Country Club’s Matt DiEleuterio, Chrissy Duman, Christine Blessing and Linda Toogood, Glen Brook Golf Club’s Dustin McCormick, Allison Stettler, Patty Wiesmeth and Deb Bettini and Bidermann Golf Club’s Zac Oakley, Anne Warner, Mary Harding Cist and Margaret Smith. Five teams tied for third place at 11-under-par.

Winning first prize in the Gross Division was Overbrook Golf Club’s Eric Kennedy, Emily Endres, Kiersten Bodge and Katelyn Bodge, who shot 6-under-par. Second place, one stroke back at 5-under-par was Bidermann Golf Club’s Zac Oakley, Anne Warner, Mary Harding Cist and Margaret Smith. Moselem Spring Golf Club’s Jeff Fick, Jess Wolgemuth, Delia Keys and Jill Kramer, tied with Matt DiEleuterio, Chrissy Duman, Christine Blessing and Linda Toogood out of Laurel Creek C.C. and  Joanna Coe, Jill Unruh, Alison Shoemaker, Kim Garno from Merion Golf Club for third place.
